Requirements and Expectations |
G for Guild is a casualesque hardcore-oriented guild with a focus on PvE progression. We were founded by many experienced veterans of WoW raiding scene, who are looking to continue raiding in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere, while maintaining a strong will for progression. We may be late to the raiding scene, but we're looking to be the best of all that there is to offer on Quel'dorei. We're not, however, aiming for e-peen gratification and world firsts, but we do seek to be as competitive as possible while taking a relaxed approach to endgame raiding; our goal is to not sit around sniffing our ass-coated thumbs, but to get things accomplished. |
If you believe that you've got what we're looking for, we heavily encourage you to apply. Enough, though, of thumbs and asses. What are we looking for in an applicant? |
| |
You should have a minimum of Tier 5 equivalent gear. We are currently working on the latter half of Black Temple and have not been doing any T5 content for some time. As such, you must meet a higher level of gear standards. In short, if your gear is comprised mostly of Tier 4 gear, stop reading this page and find another guild to apply to. |
| |
You should have previous raiding experience. Whether pre-TBC or during, some type of raiding experience is required. You must know what to expect while grouped with a large number of people. |
| |
You must maintain a minimum raid attendance rate. We currently raid four days a week: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, beginning at 6:00 CST (server time), and lasting for 4 – 5 hours. As a recruit, you are expected to maintain a 70% attendance, and 80% as a full member. |
| |
You should be an analytical thinker. We are not looking for players who cannot make quick spur-of-the-moment decisions without having them made by someone else. You should be able to acclimate to any situation. We want competent players who can alter their in-game priority with barely a moment's notice. |
| |
You should possess a definite understanding of your class in a raiding environment. Foremost, this should be reflected with your gear, gem, and enchanting choices you've selected for your character. If you're a caster, and are stacking all of your gems with some variation of spell penetration, chances are these aren't the only bad decisions you've made in your life. An understanding of theorycrafting is helpful, but not required. |
| |
You should be able to tolerate harsh language. We are a guild made up of people with an average age between 20 and 40, and as such, our language use is abrasive enough to make even the most seasoned of sailors consider a change in employment. If you are not able to tolerate offensive language, such as racial slurs, then we are probably not the best fit for you. |
| |
You must be able to blend into the guild. At the very least, you are expected to try to 'fit in' to our guild niche. If you happen to be the guy who sits in the corner and sobs into his drink when having thought about the type of people he's gotten himself involved with, then we don't want you. Without exception, we have all come together and made friends with one another, and for this, we have a very solid foundation. We expect you to become a part of that. |
| |
You should be able to accept, understand, and implement criticism given to you. We have been raiding, whether apart or together, for the entire duration of WoW's life, and as such, you may expect nothing less from us than a far above-average understanding of our classes and playing abilities. Should you may any mistakes, expect to be called out on them. Chances are, as an applicant, you will under perform in someone's eyes, and you must be able to deal with whatever it is that they might have to say. |
If you find these concerns and requirements suitable, then we highly encourage you to apply. But, be warned: if you fill out your application with single-lined responses that are more indicative of someone burdened with an extra amount of chromosomes, your application will almost certainly be denied, and also met with giddy ridicule behind your back. So, please, take a lot of time to fill out your application. If it looks as if your application was paid minimal attention, it will be deleted without any further consideration. If you cannot comprehend this, please, DO NOT APPLY. |
